Galapagos - Day 2, Saturday

Sailed overnight to Genovesa (Tower) island. The weather was cloudy to start but we were promised that it would soon burn off. It did!
We were taken by inflatable to a sandy beach. 9.30 a.m. and already it was HOT!

Even though you know that animals and birds have no reason to fear humans in the Galapagos, it's still a surprise when you get so close.

We saw so many birds - red footed boobies, frigate birds, herons, finches, swallow tailed gulls to name a few. Dave would love it here!

A beautiful day for a swim. Marg told Paul to wave from the water, having forgotten this was the distress signal to be pulled from the sea. Lucky no-one saw him!

Back to the boat for lunch, then an afernoon walk over lava rock in search of the elusive Galapagos owl. It's still elusive! We were still awestruck by what we did see though.
