First stop was a craft market in a place we can't remember the name of - possibly Corao. Obviously aimed at tourists but most things are. We're the ones with the money!
You'll often see a few hopeful locals sitting at the side of a road with a table of colourful items.
We didn't buy anything, but we did pay granny 1 sol to take her picture - and she didn't even smile!
From there we travelled to Pisaq. The scenery along the way was amazing.
We had planned to visit Inca ruins in Pisaq, but we were short of time and there happened to be a large Sunday market in the square. Alongside the usual stalls aimed at tourists, the fruit and veg stalls showed us a real slice of authentic Peruvian life.
This is a local taxi. They're everywhere, and decorated in very imaginative ways. One was done up like the Batmobile. Since not many can afford cars, these are a sensible alternative.
On the way back to the minibus, we saw this poor chap trying to move a load of rocks in an improvised trike/cart with no brakes.
Lunch was in a very pretty hacienda. We sampled the local drink - Pisco sour - Cheers! (Yes we were in the chapel!)
The afternoon was spent at the stunning Inca site at Ollantaytambo.
A great day out and only minutes to our hotel in the town.
